Little Snow White

Happy Sunday! It's Halloween week so of course I have to share my little niece's photos that I took a couple of weeks ago. I don't fancy myself a photographer, but I must say that these photos came out pretty flippin cute...credit must be given to my little model of course. She made the perfect little snow white. And what better place to take her photos than in the woods (was hoping a deer would appear in the background lol). Ready for some cuteness overload?

I wanted to go with a whimsical feel for some of the photos, so the following photos I edited using the Spring color flare & haze presets from here.

Congo Bars

I love when the weather starts getting cooler. Puts me in the mood for baking. Started off the baking season with these yummy Congo bars. They are fairly easy to make just as long as you don't over bake like I did my first batch.

Ingredients:

2 3/4 cups all purpose flour

2 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

2/3 cup butter, softened (not melted)

1 lb. light brown sugar

3 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

11.5 ounce package milk chocolate chips

1 cup chopped pecans, walnuts, and shredded coconut (I mixed all together to make 1 cup)

How to:

Sift flour, baking powder, and salt into a large bowl. In another bowl, Stir brown sugar into softened butter in another large bowl until butter disappears. Add eggs one at a time to butter mixture and stir well. Add vanilla, chocolate chips, nuts (and coconut if you'd like). Mix well. Add the flour mixture and stir until well combined.

Coat a 13 x 9 pan with non-stick spray and spread batter evenly into dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes (this is tricky because it may actually take less time, better to be under-baked than over-baked)or until top or golden brown.

Cookies & Milk Deliciousness

I have been waiting to share these milky photos for a looong time. This little love bug just celebrated his very 1st birthday this past weekend in a very BIG way. Best birthday party I have been to in a very long time. I was so excited when my dear friend asked me to take his photos again. Remember these newborn photos HERE? This time they were for the Cookies & Milk theme invitations and party. I just love him and his family to pieces. Thanks my dear Lizzy for allowing me and my crazy messy ideas in to your home. Here are only a few of the many photos I took.

Happy Weekend!

Happy Saturday Lovers!!! Finally, finally got a chance to sit down and read the new Lonny online magazine, with a good cup of coffee, while everyone was still in bed...my favorite part of weekend mornings. So I had to post this beauty of a closet. Flipped to this page and just sat here and stared at it. Probably finished my entire cup of coffee on this page alone. Such an inspiration. Check out the issue here. Enjoy!

Happy Weekend.

Halloween Time!

It's officially Halloween month. The BEST holiday EVER! I love Halloween. I used to dress up every year up until recent years. This year, I won't even be in the country for Halloween. I know, a little bummed. But I will be somewhere pretty darn cool if you ask me...and celebrating day of the dead. Wanted to start early with the Halloween posts. I am totally inspired to decorate pumpkins early this year to enjoy them at least for part of October. I love the idea of painting pumpkins. It's just easier than carving. Here is some inspiration for the start of the Halloween season. Get started people. Halloween is right around the corner. Yikes!
